Funeral services for Kenneth L. Smith, 82, were held at the Stanwood Union church April 27, 1989 with the Rev. Susan Detwiler officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill cemetery, Mechanicsville. Pallbearers were Dillon Jones, LaVern Guhl, Roger, Neal and Keith Smith and James Tenley. Honorary pallbearers were L. W. and Elmer Meyer, Woodrow Stock, William Davidson and Lou Winston. Jo Brown was organist. Vocalists were the Tri-Tones with Marcie Goodman accompanist. Masonic services were held at the Chapman Funeral Home April 26.

Mr. Smith died at the Clarence Nursing Home April 25.

The son of Harry and Adda Wasser Smith, he was born at Stanwood Sept. 12, 1906. He married Velma Hines in Chicago, Ill. Aug. 18, 1932. They farmed in the Stanwood area.

Mr. Smith was a Master Pork Producer, former member of the Cedar County Fair Board, past master of Fremont Lodge 616, AF&AM, Stanwood, past patron of the Idelle Order of the Eastern Star, member of Kaaba Shrine, Davenport and the Clinton Consistory and a member of the Stanwood Union church.

He is survived by his wife; a brother, James, Stanwood and nieces and nephews.
