The Cherokee Weekly Times - Friday, June 3rd, 1892 - A patriarch died near Larrabee last Sunday morning. This was Mr David Lilly, who was born in Pennsylvania in 1800. A brother who was born in 1798 is among the relatives who survive him. The deceased lived to see the 5th generation of his descendants.

Mr Lilly moved to Illinois in 1848 and to Iowa in 1883. Of his 11 children who are living, Mrs JB Jones of this county is one and he made his home with her of late years.

The deceased was a member of the Lutheran church and a very exemplary man in every respect. The funeral services conducted by Rev Mr McCaffree, were held at the church at Larrabee, on Wednesday afteroon and were largely attended.
