Last rites for Mrs. Lester (Mary Viola) Gayfeller, 75, were held in Iowa City Dec. 8 with the Rev. Joseph B. Denning officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens cemetery, Iowa City. Mrs. Gayfeller died at the Crestview Care center, West Branch, Dec. 5.

The daughter of Frank and Lena Mary Ehl Droll, she was born April 12, 1911. She married Lester J. Gayfeller in Iowa City April 14, 1934. He died Dec. 8, 1979.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dan and John, both of West Branch; 3 daughters, Mrs. William (Lesta Jean) Berry, Chicago, Ill.; Mrs. Raymond (Linda) Johnson, Muscatine and Mrs. Stanley (Marilyn) Phelps, West Liberty; 3 sisters, Viola Sweeting, Iowa City; Mrs. Arthur (Bernice) Walters, Spokane, Wash. and Marian Bone of Florida; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter and 5 brothers.
