A memorial service for Mrs. J. Floyd (R. Jean) Thomas, 81, will be held at the Cedar Street Baptist church at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12. Mrs. Thomas died at Mercy hospital, Iowa City, Dec. 7. Her body has been donated to the college of medicine at the University of Iowa. The family requests no flowers. Memorials may be made to the Baptist Children's home, in care of the Cedar Street Baptist church, Tipton.

Mrs. Thoams was born in Riverside, Calif. and was married to J. Floyd Thomas in Yuma, Ariz. in 1928. She was a teacher for a number of years in California and in West Branch.

She is survived by a son, Don, Tipton; 3 grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Karen; 5 great-grandchildren and 2 sisters, Dorothy McBride and Bertha Lemm, Riverside, Calif.
