Mrs. Clark Smith, of Des Moines died suddenly on July 1st at her home in East Des Moines and was found dead on the floor. The remains were brought to Clarence and burial took place in the Clarence cemetery on the Wednesday following, the services being conducted by Gordon Smith. Mrs. Anna Bixler Smith was born in Clarence on July 12, 1869, and died at the age of nearly 81 years. She was the sister of the late A. R. Bixler and aunt to Mrs. Frank Miller and Clarence Bixler. A son, Harold Smith, of Chicago, survives as does also her husband, Clark Smith, who has the great misfortune of suffering from the loss of his memory. He was publisher of the Clarence Sun before removing to Des Moines.
