Last rites for Mrs. R. E. (Anne V.) Thomson, 76, were held at St. John's United Church of Christ, Clarence, Dec. 2 with the Rev. Calvin Schumacher officiating. Burial was in Red Oak cemetery. Pallbearers were Cecil Slach, James Fonteyne, John Foley, Terry Campbell, Al Schminke and Jeff McVay. Mrs. Robert Hasselbusch was organist and Gary Braet was vocalist.

Mrs. Thomson died at Cedar Manor Nov. 29.

The daughter of George Washington and Fanny Ruby Smith Williams, she was born at Cedar Valley Feb. 11, 1910. She was married to R. E. Thomson at Iowa City Jan. 12, 1927. She and her husband farmed until moving to Tipton in 1954.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Shirley Ehlers, Tipton; 3 sons, Roland, Iowa City; Leland, LaPorte City and Gary, Lisbon; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, 2 sisters and a grandchild.
