Funeral services for Edwin H. (Ed Homer) Morton, 89, a native of Cedar county, were held at Iowa City Nov. 29 with the Rev. Roy Nilson officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Dick, Gary and Brian Morton, Dirk Godsey, Howard Yerington and Ben Dlouhy. Nettie Berven was organist.

Mr. Morton died at Mercy hospital Nov. 26.

The son of James Homer and Susan Reeve Morton, he was born in Cedar county Nov. 4, 1897. He was married to Katherine Yerington Aug. 3, 1916. He farmed in Cedar county before moving to Iowa City where he worked in a juvenile home before retiring.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, Iowa City and a former member of the Moose lodge.

Mr. Morton is survived by his wife; a son, Duane, Williamson; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
