Funeral services for Marvin Anderson, 43, Tipton, were held July 1 at the First United Church of Christ, Tipton, with the Rev. Robert Molsberry and the Rev. E. C. Wolfe officiating. Joe Mallie was the vocalist and Betty Trevathan was the organist. Pallbearers were Tom Petitgout, Dave Robinson, Ken Deerberg, Gary McGuire, Mark Emrich and Jeff Morrow. Ginny Wendell and Mary Laing were in charge of flowers. Burial was in the Tipton Masonic cemetery.

Mr. Anderson died June 28 at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

The son of Gayle and Esther Small Anderson, he was born Jan. 18, 1943 in Iowa City. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1961 and married Nancy Williams March 3, 1963 in Tipton.

Mr. Anderson worked for Hy-Vee for 20 years and had owned and operated Anderson's Inn, Tipton, for the past year. Prior to returning to Tipton one year ago, he had lived in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids and in Fairbault, Minn. for the previous 7 years.

He was a member of the Fairbault Masonic Lodge No. 9 A.F. & A.M., Osman Shrine Temple, St. Paul, Minn. and Tipton Moose Lodge No. 730.

He is survived by his wife in Tipton; 2 daughters, Angie Burke and Tami Anderson, both of Fairbault, Minn.; 2 sons, Jon and Jason, both at home in Tipton; 2 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Harvey (Esther) Rupe, Cedar Rapids; 2 sisters, Mrs. Gene (Joyce) Morrow and Mrs. Scott (Jan) Kramer, both of Tipton and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a niece.
