Funeral services for Virgil Lee Barclay, 65, will be held at the Lacock Funeral Home, Wilton, at 2 p.m. today (May 7) with the Rev. Joseph Mayer officiating. Burial will be in the Oakdale cemetery.
Mr. Barclay died at his home May 4.
The son of Clarence Lloyd and Anna Kelly Barclay, he was born near Wilton Aug. 16, 1920. He married Margaret Slach at Wilton July 16, 1942. Upon retirement from farming, the couple operated the V&M Royal Blue Grocery in Bennett from 1961-1975 and later the Hidden Treasures Antique shop and the Barclay Bait and Tackle Shop.
He was a member of the United Church of Christ and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce.
He is survived by his wife, 3 sons, Wayne, Atalissa; James, Leesburg, Ga. and Thomas, Wilton; 5 grandchildren and a brother. He was preceded in death by a grandson.
