Last rites for Anton (Scotty) Sorensen, 94, were held at West Branch May 1 with the Rev. Mar Ingberg Schwelker officiating. Burial was in the Downey cemetery. Mr. Sorensen died at the Crestview Care Center April 28.

Born in Brouste, Denmark, July 14, 1891, he emigrated to the United States in 1912. He first lived in St. Paul, Minn then moved to Detroit, Mich., where he was employed by the Ford Motor Co. He came to West Branch in 1931 where he was employed as a field tiler. He was of the Lutheran faith.

He made his home on the Herbert Espensen farm for 30 years, moving to the Cookson Memorial home and later to Crestview.

There are no immediate survivors.
