Graveside rites for Frederick S. Hawley, 88, were held at the West Branch cemetery April 23 with the Rev. Samuel J. Hahn officiating. Mr. Hawley died at the Crestview Care center April 21.

The son of Frederick and Nellie Snow Hawley, he was born in Providence, R.I. March 15, 1898. He was married to Alice Lloyd in Providence Jan. 20, 1929. She died in 1972.

A retired machinist, he moved to West Branch in 1985. He was a member of the Methodist church.

He is survived by a brother, Hubert, Providence and several nieces and nephews.
