Final rites for Roland E. Osborn, 61, LeClaire, former Tipton resident, were held at the Sheets and Son Funeral Home April 21 with Dr. Jerrold Swinton officiating. Burial was in the Rochester cemetery. Pallbearers were Lynn McQuillen, Clark and Babe Osborn, Jim and Paul Kamerling and Mike Smith.
Mr. Osborn died at St. Luke's hospital, Davenport, April 17.
The son of A. Dewey and Myrtle Turner Osborn, he was born at Rochester Aug. 2, 1924. He graduated from Tipton high school in 1942. He served in the army during World War II with the 82nd Airborne Division.
He was married to Patricia Reid at Muscatine April 15, 1948. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2537, Tipton.
Mr. Osborn is survived by 3 sons, Ronald, Danny and Michael, Seaside, Calif.; 6 grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Osborn, North Liberty; 2 sisters, Mrs. Honey Lou Smith, Tipton and Mrs. Lewis (Pat) McQuillen, Moscow; and 5 brothers, Paul and Jerry, Tipton; Hugh, Athens, Ala.; Burton, LeClaire and Frank, Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
