Charles Williams was born in Luzerne Co, PA to Thomas Williams and Eve Engler. Family moved to Putnam Co, OH in 1832. Family moved to Massillon, IA in 1840. In 1957 Charles md. Sarah Nancy Ball.
Daughter of Amos James Ball and Nancy Sawins.
During the Civil War wild horses were shiped to
Massillon, IA from Colorado. The horses were sold to the Union Army after they were brokn. When the War was over many horses were left unbroken and this attracted horse thiefs. Charles and others
belonged to the Militia, they tracked down several of the horse thief's and hung them.

13. Charles Williams (Eve2 Engler, John1) (RIN-482) was born in Newport Township, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania 5 June 1826.

He married Sarah Nancy Ball 19 December 1857 in Massillon, Cedar County, Iowa. They were divorced in September 1883.

Sarah (RIN-232) was born 4 July 1836 in Woodbury, Vermont. Sarah died April 1914 in White Cloud, Doniphan County, Kansas. She was interred in Iowa Point, Doniphan County, Kansas.

Charles died 14 March 1884 in Iowa Point, Doniphan County, Kansas. He died on the front porch of his ront porch in White Cloud, KS from an accidental gun shot. Getting ready to hunt deer, rifle discharged while being used as a cane to lean on. Bullet struck him in the forehead. He was interred in Iowa Point, Doniphan County, Kansas.
