Mrs. Marie Emma Strait, 75, of 1040 North Crawford Street, died at the Carroll Health Center Saturday, June 7, following a long illness.
Services will be held at the St. Paul Lutheran Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Albert T. Bostelmann officiating. The casket will be moved to the church at 1 p.m. Tuesday. A family prayer service will be held at 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home at Carroll.
Mrs. Strait, the daughter of John and Katherine Wesack Strait was born at Carroll March 16, 1900.
She had been living in California since 1947 where she was employed by Los Angeles Board of Education in child care centers. She returned to Carroll March 9. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Los Angeles, and a graduate of Carroll High School.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Bill (Wilma) Clauss, of Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Merle (Charlotte) Vetter of Carroll; three sisters, Ella Platt of Carroll; Mrs. Henry (Leota) Johnson of Carroll and Mrs. W. (Anna) Fowler of Fountain Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
