My great-great grandparents came to Iowa around 1850. They were Josef Eiffens and his wife Clarisse nee Marbeouf and their 12 year old daughter Euphrasie. Josef died of a gunshot wound between 1850 and 1858. Clarisse remarried to Pierre Francois. Later her daughter Euphrasie married Pierre's twin --Samuel. I cannot find where Josef (Joseph) Eiffens was buried---only that he died of a gunshot wound---I think somewhere around Dubuque.
