Earl “Bill” Miller, 90, on Hazleton, IA, died on January 26, 2025, at his home in Hazleton, IA.
Bill was born on March 7, 1934, in Oelwein, IA, the son of Virgil D. and Phyillis M. (Kendall) Miller. He grew up in Hazleton, IA and was a 1952 graduate of Hazleton High School. He enlisted into the United States Army in 1954 and severed proudly until 1956.
When Bill returned from the Army, he went to work at the foundry at John Deere in Waterloo, IA. He worked there for over twenty years and retired in the early 1970’s. Bill missed work and soon purchased a semi-truck. He drove all over the United States for the next thirty years. He drove countless miles before retiring from long hauls in the early 2000’s.
Bill married Konstance “Konnie” K. Kirby on November 26, 1960, in Independence, IA. Together they raised their four children. Bill Loved taking his kids on trips in the truck across the US. Camping and spending summer days at Freddie’s Beach at Lake Delhi were some of the best memories the family had.
He is survived by four children: Lori Yauslin, Oelwein, IA, Kirby (Jane) Miller, Randalia, IA, Kendall (Liz) Miller, Hazleton, IA, Monica (Alan) Michels, Hazleton, IA, Nine Grandchildren; Jeremy (Tonya) Yauslin, Dr. Jessica (Chad) Lange, Kayleigh (Josh) Stamp, Marissa Alber, Kole (Madison) Alber, Corben (Sierra) Miller, Drew Michels, and Emma Michels, ten Great Grandchildren and one on the way.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife Konnie Miller, a daughter Marlo Marie Miller, his father and stepmother, Virgil and Ruby Miller, his mother and step-father, Phyillis and Ray Howard, two brothers, Richard Miller, and Michael “Champ” Howard, and two great grandson Knox Stamp, and Beckett Lange.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The Reiff Family Center of Independence is assisting the family with arrangements.
