Hi, does anyone have any information on a furniture store named Strippel & Young? It's supposed to have been run by a man named Werner Strippel sometime after 1890. He was also supposed to have served on the city council and represented the county at the State legislature for 10 years, as well as having stakes in a couple different canning companies, and served as the president of the People's Savings Bank, but I can't find anything on the furniture store. The reason I'm interested is because I recently inherited a dresser set with Strippel and Young, Vinton, IA printed on the back, and wanted to see if I could figure out the manufacturer's date, just for our own family knowledge.
I've included a link to Strippel's entry in the national registry of historic places, which tells mostly about his house, but is where I got most of my information from. His entry is number 21 on page 14, for his house at 814 1st Ave.
Any advice on how to obtain more information is helpful. Thanks you!
