Henry Heckman Died At His Home In
Exira Friday Last July 31, After
A Short Illness.

Johann Heinrich Heckman was
born July 17, 1841 at Senufeld [sic Sennfeld] Baden
Germany and at the age of
thirty years was married to Miss
Susanna Katherine Gramlich. To
this union twelve ohildren were
born but four of them passed over
during their infancy. In 1888 he
came to the United States bringing
his large family with him. He came
direct to Audubon township where
he lived for many years on his farm
About seven years ago or soon after
the death of his wife he moved
to Exira where with the assistance
of his daughter, Miss Minnie he
kept a restaurant for a livli(e)hood
The living members of the family
are: Henry Heckman, Jericho Mo.
Mrs. Caroline Aupperle, Adair la.,
Louie Heckman, August Heckman,
Miss Louisa Heckman, Herman
Heckman, Emil Heckman and Miss
Minnie Heckman.

He died at his late residence in
Exira Friday July 31st 1908, and was
intered in the German Lutheran
Church yard in Audubon township
Sunday midst a large concourse of
relatives and friends.
