Exira, Ia., May 9. —(Special) Funeral services for Theodore Patty, pioneer Audubon county resident who died Monday evening at 6:30 at the state hospital at Clarinda, will be held tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the Exira Christian church, the Rev. Stephen B. Moore, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in the Exira cemetery.
Mr. Patty, a native of Ohio, came west with his parents in 1855, settling at Irving and, after living at Carroll for two years, came here in 1871. He carried mail from Atlantic to Exira before the railroad to this city was established for four years. In 1881 he engaged in the insurance business here and continued in that profession until a year ago last August. He had been in failing health for some time. His death was due to hardening of the arteries.
Patty was prominent in lodge circles here, being a charter member of the Exira Knights of Pythias and Maccabees lodges, and was also a member of the Masons, Pythian Sisters and Order of Eastern Star.
NOTE FROM CONTRIBUTOR: Theodore Patty was born September 13, 1853 and died May 7, 1928.
