-------
Wednesday, June 24th, Occurred the
Marriage of Miss Roxie Huyck
and Mr. Roscoe Clark of Orient--------
Married at high noon Wednesday
at the residence of our townsman,
George Huyck, their daughter,
Roxie to Roscoe O. Clark. About
seventy-five invited guests were
present. Among these was a number
from out of town who were relatives
and friends of the bride and
groom. Just as the clock struck
twelve, Miss Clara Nelson began
playing the march to the tune of
which the couple, preceded by two
littte flower girls took their station
and Rev. Polson said the words
which united them for life. After
congratulations an elegant repast
was served. The bride was dressed in white
aud carried a spray of roses. The
groom wore a business suit. A
large number of fine presents were
given. These young people are
well known here. The bride is one
of the most estimable of Exira's
young ladies. She has taught in
our schools and has a host of
friends among young and old
alike who wish her well. The
groom is a splendid type of young
manhood, and the Journal adds
its congratulations and best wishes.Note: Parents of Roxie Mary Huyck were George A. Huyck and Sarah Ann Rudge.
Parents of Roscoe Orlan Clark were Silas Burton Clark and Nancy Catherine Cannon.
