A SOCIAL GATHERING--------
Miss Elda Wheeler of Audubon Township
Entertained Her Young
Friends Friday Evening--------
The buoyant spirits of our 8th
graders took them to the Joseph
Wheeler home Friday night to
participate with their schoolmate,
Miss Elda Wheeler in a right royal
good time. Some twenty-five or
thirty chartered a conveyance and
took a moolight drive, arriving
there with a determination to have
fun and frolic and lots of it. They
went into the games that started
them chasing each other, leaping
over Joe's fences thru cattle yards
and hog pens causing the cows to
loo, the pigs to grunt, the horses
to whinny and the roosters to crow. After the wildness had disappeared
they settled down and spent
the remainder of the evening in
social entertainment. The elements
began to look angry by two o'clock
and the thoughts of getting a wetting
caused them to "round up"
and start for home, all telling what
a fine time they had.Note: Parents of Elda Evelyn Wheeler were Joseph Leonard "Joe" Wheeler and Clara Ethel Barchard. Elda was married 1st to James Edwin Walker, and 2nd to Harlie Louis Stafford.
