Funeral services were held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon at the Evangelical and Reformed Church in New Albin for Edna C. Meyer, 61, who passed away last Monday afternoon at St. Francis Hospital, La Crosse. She became ill last April and submitted to surgery and had been in and out of the hospital since then.

Rev. Emil Burrichter officiated and burial was made in the family lot in Wheatland Cemetery. Casket bearers were Edwin Meyer, Paul H. Meyer, Erwin Rober, Willard Wiegreffe, Franklin Haar and Herbert Wuennecke.

She was born in Houston County, Winnebago township, January 19th, 1897, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry B. Meyer, early day residents of that community. Following her education she taught school in rural Houston and the surrounding area for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mrs. William (Frances) Oitzman. Left to mourn her passing are 1 sister, Mrs. Alfred Krueger, 1 brother, Paul G. Meyer and one niece, Mrs. Roland Deters and other more distant relatives.

She made her home for many years with her sister at Portland Prairie and will be missed by a wide circle of acquaintances. About one year ago she moved to make her home in New Albin.
