Mrs. Fred Wuececke [sic], born Anna Katherine Elizabeth Meyer, daughter of the deceased parents Henry Christian Meyer and Katherine Rober, was born in Houston County, Minn., on the 25th day of June, 1880. She was baptized in St. John's church and confirmed by Rev. Birkner in the year 1894.

Mrs. Wuenecke worked at home and out among neighbors in her girlhood. In the month of April, 1914, she entered into marriage with Fred Wuenecke. The marriage ceremony was performed by Rev. Bizer in St. Peter's church in New Albin.

They made their home on a farm at Crooked Creek. It was, however, to be a short span of marriage, for Mr. Wuenecke was suddenly called away on the 30th of May in the year 1926.

A year after the death of her husband she purchased a home in New Albin, where she lived until her health failed, and she was no longer able to live alone. She thereafter made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hein.

Mrs. Wuenecke had to submit to many operations, which left her weak and frail physically. Though her cross was heavy to bear, she never waivered in her faith, but came regularly to church whenever she was able to worship God in truth and in spirit.

Three weeks ago she became seriously ill and was taken to the Lutheran hospital in La Crosse, where she died last Friday nigh at 12:30 o'clock.

She leaves to mourn one brother, Otto H. Meyer of New Albin, and one sister, namely Mrs. Herman Haar of Eitzen, Minn.; her nephews and nieces and many other relatives and friends.
