DIED AT CAMP DODGE
from the New Albin News: PVT J.N. Brennan

John Nicholas Brennan was born in New Albin, Iowa, May 26, 1890, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brennan.

On June 4, 1917, he was married to Miss Ernestine Charlotte Irons, the ceremony being performed at Lansing, Rev. Mr. Sires officiating.

On Sept. 4, 1918, he joined his regiment at Camp Dodge, Ia., where shortly afterwards he fell ill with influenza. His wife hastened to his bedside, but wifely care and medical attention alike proved unavailing and he succumbed to the disease on Oct. 17.

The remains were escorted here by Acting Sergeant Robert E. Kerklaw, and laid to rest in the New Albin cemetery on Oct. 22.

He leaves to mourn his widow, his aged parents, two brothers, four sisters and a wide circle of friends.
