Another Soldier Brought Home
The remains of Karl Kroeger of Co. H, 119th Infantry, of New Albin, Iowa, who was killed in France on Sept. 29, 1918, at the age of 29 years, arrived here Friday, April 21st, and were conveyed to the home of relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Luettehens of the Wheatland neighborhood; from where he was laid to rest Sunday, April 23, in the Wheatland cemetery beside his father and mother.

Rev. Karl Bizer conducted the burial services and the pall bearers comprised former comrades in uniform from the members of Jesse Thomson Post of the American Legion of New Albin, who turned out in a body and paid their deceased comrade the usual tribute of a soldier's burial. The floral offerings were profuse and beautiful.

Private Kroeger was a fine Christian gentleman of good habits, high ideals and lofty ambitions and a true friend to all. He died for his country, leaving a record of which anyone may well be proud. The esteem in which he was held was shown by the large number of sorrowing relatives and friends who followed his remains to their last resting place.
