Veta LaPOINTE, teacher

We were again privileged to enjoy beautiful weather for the month of October and have added to our collection of spiders. We have also made a study of the webs which different spiders make and found them an interesting topic for a general lesson.

For this month Wayne RICHARDSON has been making a wood chart while Lynn THOMAS has been working on an Iowa Grain and Grass Chart.

The girls, Betty FRAZEE, Doris, Hazel and Lois HOHN made autumn booklets for the month of October.

The second and third grades, Dean HOHN and Helen THOMAS, made Indian booklets.

On Friday, October 18, we had a Country Life program and invited the parents to attend. Following is the program:

Governor's proclamation - Herman WEBB.
Song, "The Leaves Party” - School.
Reading - Betty FRAZEE.
Reading - Doris HOHN.
Song by primary department - Neil THOMAS, Margaret HOHN, Beryl BUCHANAN.
Original dialogue, "Country Life” - Hazel HOHN and Lois HOHN.
Song - Dean HOHN.
Original dialogue - Lynn THOMAS and Wayne RICHARDSON.

We all breathed a sigh of relief when the examinations were over for October and the monthly report showed a slight improvement in grade over the first month.
