Ringgold County Sheriff's office and Ringgold County Ambulance were called to an accident on Highway 2 and 169 in
front of Glendenning Motors late Friday afternoon. Ashley HULL, 14, of rural Mount Ayr, was crossing the highway
when she walked into the path and was struck by a 1988 Chevy pickup driven by Michael RUSSO of Kellerton. This is the
second pedestrian-vehicle accident in less than a year. In November three students were hit by a car when walking on
the sidewalk after school.
Heritage Park tenants, along with many Mount Ayr residents, bid farewell and good luck to the last of the original tenants,
Hazel SMITH as she made Heritage Park her home for the last 27 years, since it opened in March of 1977. SMITH was
honored with cards, flowers and cake. She will be moving to Maple Ridge Assisted Living.
Katy KIMBLEY was named the American Choral Directors Association winner as the top vocal music student at Mount Ayr
