Des Moines Register Iowa Boy columnist Chuck Offenburger will be the featured guest at the Mount Ayr Chamber of Commerce Farmer Appreciation Night Friday.

For the second year in a row, Nathan Smith, a Mount Ayr Community high school junior, has qualified for the state Citizen Bee contest, to be held in Des Moines Saturday, May 2.

Mount Ayr Community high school speech students brought home four division I ratings from the state speech contest held in Norwalk Saturdy. Kim Kaanaugh and Craig McClure received straight I ratings from the judges and Nathan Smith received two division I ratings and a division II rating.

22 Ringgold County United Methodist Women attended a March 19 study about "Christians in Japan" held at the Clearfield United Methodist Church.
