A Rideta Electric Cooperative employee was injured in an accident Tuesday afternoon. Duane SCHAFER, line foreman for

There is a wide difference between items sought by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local
55 and the city of Mount Ayr in opening positions. While the union sought a three-year contract with an eight percent
increase in salary each year, the city's proposal was for a one-year contract with no increase in salary.
An auction date was set and examples of demolition request proposals looked at among other details when the Grand Valley
Trust and Agency committee held its most recent meeting. Bids were received from Smith Auctioneering and Hamilton
Auctioneering for the sale of assets of the former Grand Valley Community school district. Both bids were for 9.5 percent of
the proceeds of the sale. After both auctioneers were called and sale dates discussed, Hamilton Auctioneering of Leon
was chosen to be the auctioneer for the sale.
Mount Ayr Community high school's Raider marching band took part in Marching Madness at Lenox Community high school
Saturday night. The band placed second to Dallas Center-Grimes in the Lenox contest, a band that moved down this year
from Class 3A.
Two new churches serving the Mount Ayr area have been completed recently and are hosting services. The Mount Ayr
Assembly of God is working on finishing touches on its new church home south of Highway 2 in the west part of

location west of Mount Ayr along Highway 2.
