Mount Ayr Community high school's FFA chapter had two American FFA degree recipients at the national convention in Kansas City last week. Ed McCreary, a 1988 graduate of Mount Ayr Community high school, was named to receive the American FFA degree and chapter advisor, Jack Cook, was awarded the honorary American FFA degree in cermonies Friday.
It was a night of more discussion than action when the Mount Ayr city council added a new council member at its regular meeting Monday night. Larry Foltz was appointed by the council to fill the unexpired term of Gerald Cannon Monday night. Mayor Merrill Perry administerd the oath of office to Foltz, who will serve until January in the unexpired term. He has been elected to a seat on the council beginning in January.
Mount Ayr Community Band Boosters cleared over $2,100 from the band uniform fund raising dinner held recently.
