Delegates at the 2000 World Conference at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints voted in favor of
changing the church's name to Community of Christ. This change was approved by more than the required two-thirds margin.
The church has a congregation in Mount Ayr, which meets at the church building on Lincoln Street.
