Marion ANDERSON, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse ANDERSON, has been selected for membership in the a cappella choir at Graceland College, Lamoni. Students are invited to join the a cappella choir after being chosen from the Oratorio Society, which is a large chorus of singers.
About 25 men of the crew employed by the Booth & Olson Construction Copany, which has the contract for paving in Mount Ayr, went on strike Monday afternoon, demanding fifty cents
per hour instead of forty cents for common labor.
Eighty-four bushels or approximately 33,600 bullheads were transferred Monday from Mud Lake in Emmet county to Loch Ayr, north of Mount Ayr. The fish averaged from six to 12 inches in length. Approximatley 250,000 golden shiners were also place in the lake the same day.
MOUNTAIN BRUSH - Louise MOORE and Donald CORLL were quietly married at Grant City, MO, Saturday evening.
STUDENT AYR - Halloween parties for pupils of the kindergartenand first six grades were held Thursday afternoon. Prizes were given for the best costume, the most original costume and the
funniest or best disguise. Winners were Ruth WARRICK, Ruth PUTNEY, Perry Ann BEASLEY, Wally KNAPP, Marilyn DENHART, Laurance BISHOP, Daryl HOLDEN, Joan CHRISTIANSEN, Marilyn MARTIN and Duane KNIGHT.
