Dennis Sharp from FEH Associates, the Mount Ayr Community school district's architectural firm in charge of replacing the 1936 building, presented the next set of plans for new construction.

Rebekah Baker will be a contestant in the National American Miss Iowa Junior Teen pageant at the Des Moines Marriott Hotel.

Tony Wiley, one of six Diagonal high school seniors, recently attended the one-week Art Institutes International Minnesota Summer Teen Workshop in Minneapolis. Wiley enrolled in the visual effects and motion graphics course
because it provided him with an opportunity to experience a segment of art careers he had not yet attempted here in Ringgold County.

Two Mount Ayr Community faculty memebers voiced concerns to the board about upcoming hiring decisions. Carol Cason questioned why she was not granted the opportunity to inteview for the vacant 5-8 instrumental music
position and Bret Ruggles addressed the board of his concern about the impending hire of a new head boys basketball coach from outside of the district.
