It's becoming
more and more common to see bobcats in Ringgold county. That was shown again this week when a bobcat was inadvertently
caught Sunday in a dirt hole trap set for raccoons on land along Crooked Creek in Washington township owned by Lowell
SCHAEFER of Diagonal. Austin and Colton BOLLES were checking traps with their father, David, when they came upon the
20-pound female bobcat dead in the trap.
Iowa State Patrol Trooper Robert SMITH has been selected as the Department of Public Safety's November employee of the
month. SMITH, who works in District 12, is the son of Jim and Mary Ann SMITH of Beaconsfield.
Schlapia, Inc. of Diagonal has announced that the segment of its business relating to petroleum marketing has been sold,
effective December 20. R K Fuels, Inc., which is owned by Randy KOHLSCHEEN of Council Bluffs, has purchased the petroleum
marketing business.
