Missio church was founded January 9th, 2022 as a new church plant in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

A member of the the Christian and Missionary Alliance (C&MA) denomination, Missio first began holding services in the Ringgold County Outdoor Alliance (ROA) Building east of the square in Mount Ayr. After a few months, services were moved to the Ringgold County Courthouse assembly room. In late 2023, services were again moved to the American Legion in southeast Mount Ayr where they continue to be held today.

Missio has also held special services at the Ringgold County Fair and on the courthouse lawn.
