SHOOTING AFFRAY

A Former Dubuquer Shoots a
Man Who Insults His Wife

In The HERALD of Thursday morning, in the state news brief mention was made of a shooting affray at Sioux City, in which Leopold Kedor and John Fitzpatrick figured. We have learned additional particulars. Mr. Fitzpatrick is a son John Fitzpatrick of this city, residing on south Dodge Street, and member of the board of supervisors from Julien Township.

It appears, as therefore stated, that Kedor used insulting language to Mrs. Fitzpatrick, which she reported to her husband. Mr. F. immediately sought Kedor, finding him at a boarding house, and as Kedor showed a disposition to fight Mr. F. drew a revolver and shot him, three balls taking effect, one in the head, one in the shoulder and the other in the back, inflicting serious but not fatal wounds.

Kedor is thought to have been under the influence of liquor when he addressed Mrs. Fitzpatrick. The sediment of the people of Sioux City is decidedly in favor of Mr. Fitzpatrick, and popular verdict being that he served Kedor just right. He gave himself up to the officers for trial, and has had examination during the past week the result of which we have not learned.
