2 Children Dead As Cars Collide
SERGEANT BLUFF(AP) - Two cousins, 8 and 9 years old, were killed in a two-car crash at a county road intersection five miles southeast of here Sunday afternoon.
Killed were Christine Fulton, 8, daughter of Frank Fulton of Sioux City, and Hazel Fulton, 9, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fulton of Sheldon. Both children were thrown from the car driven by Frank Fulton.
Fulton, his son, Frank Jr., 9; a daughter, Shelley, 3; Terry Lynn Fulton, 5, and John Fulton, 7, sons of Harry Fulton, were injured in the crash. All were hospitalized at Sioux City.
The occupants of the other car, Loren Horsley, 20, Bronson, the driver; Elmount Baker, 19, and Marvin Lillie, 17, both of Holly Springs, were less seriously hurt.
Dr. Thomas L. Coridan, Woodbury County coroner, said the westbound car drive by Horsley collided with the northbound Fulton auto as the latter was almost across the intersection.
The Fulton car was hit at the right rear and knocked against a utility pole before topping into a ditch.
