Mrs. James Pecka passed away last Thursday afternoon at 3 o’clock after an illness of six years duration, death being due to dropsy.
Mary Cimbura was born in May, 1859, at Putin, Austria. At the age of two years she emigrated to this country with her parents where the rest of her left was spent.
On October 24, 1881, she was united in marriage to James Pecka at Spillville, Rev. Ehrenberger performing the marriage ceremony. Six children were born to this union; Anna—Mrs. Jos. Phillips, Barbara—Mrs. Joseph Malek, Albina—Mrs. Chas. Kovarik, Mary Otilla and Frank at home.
The funeral took place Monday morning, March 24, at St. Wenceslaus church, Rev. Broz officiating. The pall bearers were Frank and Albert Ondrasek, James Mashek, Chas. Klema, Frank Kovari, and Joseph Frana. In her death her loving husband and children have met with a great loss and their many friends sympathize with them in the hour of sorrow. May she rest in peace.
