Gerald Martin Archibald, 53, of Indianola died of cancer Sunday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola. Cremation will follow services.
Mr. Archibald was born in Knoxville and had lived in Cookeville, Tenn., and Albia before moving to Indianola 25 years ago. He was a master plumber for the Underground Co. and was a member of Indianola Booster Club and Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Local 33.
He is survived by his wife, Jo Ellen; four daughters, Angela Archibald of Kansas City, Mo., Agatha Archibald of Norwalk, and Abigail Blake and Amelia Archibald, both of Indianola; his mother, Kathryn Archibald of Albia; four brothers, Mike of Altoona, and Tony, Scotty and Pat, all of Albia; two sisters, Sue Archibald of Altoona and Ruth Archibald of Albia; and three grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Indianola Booster club or the American Cancer Society.
