McGlothen Cemetery is in section 12, Columbia Township. Thomas McGlothen deeded one acre to the trustees of Columbia Township in 1879. One must drive through a field to get to the cemetery. There are between forty and sixty burials in the cemetery.

The confusion may have come from the fact that section 12 abuts section 7 of Richland Township. All are located west and a little south of the town of Kirkville.
