Morton Clifford

CLIFFORD, MAHAN, DELONG

I am looking for the heritage of Morton David CLIFFORD. He was born in Ottumwa, Iowa in 1859. He appears on the 1860 census with his mother, Jane Clifford. His father, who could have been Harmon (sp) Clifford, who died in the Civil War. I have looked for Clifford's in Civil War, BUT found no such name. At the age of 10 Morton and his mother left for Oregon. I have the history from that point on. I would like the early history and to know his father!
