Leola G. McEntee
Leola G. McEntee, 74, 200 E. Broadway Ave., died at 5:14 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 1990, at Jefferson County Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Nauvoo, Ill., with the Rev. Paul Showalter officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Open visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be at 7 that night at the funeral home with family visitation to follow. Memorials have been established to the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fairfield and to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
Mrs. McEntee was born Dec. 27, 1915, in Niota, Ill., the daughter of Frank A. and Frances L. Bollin Tarry. She graduated from St. Peter and Paul Academy in Nauvoo. She married Warren J. McEntee May 17, 1937, at St. Mary's in Mount Sterling, Ill. He died Aug. 2, 1984. A homemaker, she had lived most of her life in Jefferson County. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, Keep Young Club, and was a Lord's Cupboard volunteer.
Surviving are six daughters, Peggy McEntee of Boca Raton, Fla., Bonnie Studebaker of Redmond, Wash., Betty Mahoney of Carmichael, Calif., Cindy Valee of Rolling Hilles Estate, Calif.; seven sons, Richard of Arcadia, Calif., Donald of Long Beach, Calf., William of Arcadia, Robert of Stockport, Jerry of San Dimas, Calif., Terry of Sacramento, Calif., Edward of Libertyville; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; a sister, Virginia Scheetz of Burnside, Ill.; and a brother, Neil Tarry of Nauvoo. An infant daughter, Mary Jo, preceded her in death.
