Marie M. Horn

Marie M. Horn, daughter of Harry Streator and Grace Cree Morrison, was born May 5, 1910 at Douds and died Wednesday, June 27, 1990 in Missouri Baptist Hospital, Saint Louis, Mo. at the age of 80.

She graduated from Douds High School, earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, and taught in the Lindbergh School District in St. Louis.

She married Clair Horn November 17, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. They lived in Washington, D.C., and in Crestwood, Missouri since 1943. Marie was a member of Southminister United Methodist Church in Crestwood, Retired Teachers Association, and was a 50 year member of Twin City Chapter No. 258, Order of Eastern Star in Douds.

Surviving are her husband, three daughters, Carolyn Boehmer and her husband, Todd, Crestwood, Mo., Janet Heida and her husband, Robert, Ellisville, Mo. and Linda Silverman and her husband, Joseph, Montgomery, Alabama, eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Cree Morrison, Rock Island, Ill., Rod Morrison, St. Petersburg, Florida and Harry Morrison, Columbia, Mo., nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. A brother, Jack Morrison, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Monday, July 2, 1990 at 10:30 a.m. at Pedrick Funeral Home, Douds, with Rev. Harold Harryman officiating. Interment with Eastern Star Rites was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery near Douds.
