Brad K. Watson, 29, of Largo, Fla., former area resident died of cancer at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1990, at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fla.
A memorial service was held Feb. 10 in the Chapel of the National Cremation Society at Clearwater. Another memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Stockport Christian Church with the Rev. Ellis Beeman officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport at a later date. A memorial has been established.
Watson was born Oct. 5, 1960, at Keosauqua, the son of Melvin and Marcelene Watson. He grew up on a farm in Van Buren County and attended Van Buren and Harmony schools, graduating from Van Buren Community High School in 1979. He attended Iowa State University, Ames, majoring in agricultural business and in 1984 moved to Florida, where he was employed at Crossland Savings Bank. In 1988, he became branch manager of Anchor Savings Bank in Clearwater, where he remained until his death.
Surviving are his parents of Stockport; a brother, Wayne L. of Stockport; four sisters, Linda J. Carter of Hillsboro, Marcia L. Swartout of Brownsburg, Ind., Susan I. Swartout of Mooresville, Ind., Deborah D. Jury of Bonaparte; his paternal grandfather, Cleo E. Watson of Parkview Care Center, Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

Brad K. Watson, 29, of Largo, Florida, died at 11:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 6, 1990 at the Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater, Florida. He was born October 5, 1960 at Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Melvin L. and Marcelene M. Watson of Stockport, Iowa.
He grew up on a farm in Van Buren County Iowa and attended both Van Buren and Harmony Schools, graduating from Van Buren, Keosauqua, Iowa in 19979. He attended Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa for four years, majoring in Agriculture Business. In 1984, he moved to Florida, where he was employed at the Crossland Savings Bank and in 1988, he became Branch Manager of the Anchor Savings Bank, where he remained until his death.
Surviving are his parents, a brother Wayne L. Watson of Stockport, Iowa, four sisters, Linda J. Carter of Hillsboro, Iowa, Marcia L. Swartout of Brownsburg, Indiana, Susan I. Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the National Cremation Society, Clearwater, Florida, February 10, 1990 with the Reverend Ed Arnold officiating, and was held again on Sunday, February 25, 1990 at the Stockport Christian Church, Iowa at 2:00 P.M. with the Reverend Ellis Beeman officiating.
Interment will be in Spencer Cemetery near Stockport at a later date.
A memorial has been established.
