John Jorgensen Dies at Story City; Funeral Thursday

Story City, June 3--John Jorgensen, 71, long-time resident of this community died at his home southwest of Story City, Tuesday at 9:30 a. m. He had been failing in health for the past four years and had been confined to his bed since December. He suffered a stroke of apoplexy a week ago from which death resulted.

Mr. Jorgensen was a native of Denmark, but came to America and located on a farm near Story City in 1890 and his home has since been either in this community or Jewell.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Anna Jorgensen of Story City and son, Lewis Jorgensen, the latter now stationed at Camp Lee, Petersburg, Va., and also leaves a sister, Mrs. David Anderson of Williams.

Funeral rites will be held Thursday, with prayer at the home at 1:30 and funeral service at Bethel Lutheran church at 2 o'clock, with his pastor, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud in charge. Burial will be at Center cemetery west of Story City.
