John A. Christiansen [sic] Dies at Home Of Son at Zearing

Zearing, Feb. 23--Funeral rites were held at the Brouhard Funeral Chapel here February 16 for John A. Christiansen [sic], 80, who died at the home of his son, Clarence and family, here on February 13, with burial at Alexander, Iowa. The service was in charge of Rev. R. E. Kearney of the Church of Christ.

John A. Christiansen [sic] was born in Copenhagen, Denmark on March 12, 1861. He came to this country at the age of 20, going first to Council Bluffs. Later he went to Alexander, Iowa, where he met and married Miss Myrtle May Giles on Jan. 3, 1893. He worked as a carpenter and mason. Nine children were born to them , all of which are living. There are 30 grand-children and one great grandchild surviving.

Mrs. Christiansen [sic] preceded him in death in 1918. The latter years of his life were spent in the homes of his children, most of the time being at the home of his son Clarence, where he died on February 13 at the age of 80 years, 11 months and one day. Mr. Christiansen [sic] was a member of the Congregational Church at Coulter.
