MRS. E. P. ANDERSON DIED LAST FRIDAY AT HIGH OLD AGE
Mrs. E. P. Anderson, 87, for over 60 years a resident of this community, died at her home here last Friday of a lingering illness, which had covered a period of over eight years, over six of which she had been bedfast.
Funeral rites were held on Monday afternoon, with prayer service at the home at 1:30, followed by the service at Immanuel Lutheran church, with her pastor, Rev. T. T. Heimarck in charge, assisted by Rev. H. O. Oppedal. Burial was in the St. Paul Lutheran cemetery, by the side of her husband, who died March 24, 1933.
Mrs. Anderson, who was born in Illinois August 13th, 1855, came to Story City as a bride 66 years ago and settled on a farm northwest of Story City. There they lived and raised their family, retiring from the farm and moving to Story City 27 years ago.
She is survived by five children, four daughters and a son, thy being Mrs. E. E. Hanson of Brookings, S. D., Mrs. Arthur Ruud of Inglewood, Calif., Arabelle Anderson at home, Mrs. Dewey Dempsey of Ames, and Edward J. Anderson of Washington state.
She also leaves two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Charles Hove of Story City, Mrs. J. B. Crim and P. A. Mathre of Ames and L. H. Mathre of Rockford, Ill., besides 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Anderson was exceptionally patient in her long illness and steadfast in her Christian faith to the end. Arabelle took care of her mother during her years as an invalid.
