OBITUARY

NELS LUNDEY [sic]

Nels Lundey [sic], son of Hans and Ingeborg Lundey, was born at Lundey, Olen, Norway, May 2, 1870, and passed away at his home in Story City May 11, 1942. He was at his death 72 years old. The main cause of his death was hardening of the arteries.

When about 20 years old, in 1890, he came to America. His first stop was Morris, Ill., where he worked as a farm hand for one year, after which he came to Iowa. He worked as a farmhand and rented land at Sheldahl, Story City and Randall. In 1920 be bought a small farm near Radcliffe, where he made his home for 20 years. The last three he has lived in Story City.

In 1894 he was united in marriage to Miss Malinda Holland of Etne, Norway. The wedding took place in Sheldahl, the pioneer pastor, Rev. Osmund Sheldahl, officiated.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and many relatives and friends. When he lived near Randall he belonged to the Randall church, and moving to near Radcliffe he was a member of the Double church.

He was buried from Erick Holland's home and the Bethel church, Story City, on Friday, May 15, Rev. G. O. Paulsrud officiating. Orville Olson and Rev. Paulsrud each sang a song at the church. The pallbearers were: Leonard Auestad, Peter Frette, Selmer Stevenson, Ransom Holland, Hallie Swenson and Telmer Holland. Interment was in the Story City cemetery.
