Vicki was born on October 16, 1948, in Sibley, the daughter of Andrew and Nelvina Edna (Vellinga) Mouw. She grew up in Sibley and graduated from the Western Christian High School in Hull.

On July 21, 1967, she was united in marriage to Arlan Dykstra, in Sibley. They initially made their home at Airforce bases in Kansas and California while Arlan was serving in the United States Airforce. In the early 1970’s, the couple moved to Sioux Center, where they raised their son, Terry. Vicki worked at the Schalekamp Drug Store in Sioux Center, and later managed Evie’s Hallmark in Sioux Center for 32 years.

Mrs. Dykstra was a member of the New Life Reformed Church in Sioux Center. While working at Evie’s, she began collecting Precious Moments, stained glass angels, and Hallmark ornaments and collectibles. She was even featured in the local newspaper for her extensive collection. She and Arlan were able to travel to all fifty states, Hawaii being her favorite. And she loved to spoil her granddaughters and attended as many of their events as she could. She also enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles and making small gift boxes for weddings.

Survivors include her husband of more than 57 years, Arlan, of Sioux Center; her son and his wife, Terry and Crystal Dykstra, of Sioux Center; two granddaughters, Katelynn Dykstra, and her fiancé, Treyton Bonnema; and Danielle Dykstra, all of Sioux Center; three sisters, Sharon, and her husband, Gayle Zonnefeld, of Denver, Colorado; Debra Terrell, of Harriman Tennessee; and Connie, and her husband, Lauren Runia, of Bozeman, Montana; a brother, Andrew Mouw, of Sioux Falls; a brother-in-law and his wife, Roger and Arlene Dykstra, of Sioux Center; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Ed and Trina Dykstra; infant fraternal twins, Wayne and Carol; a sister, Patricia Mouw; and a brother-in-law, Steve Terrell.

Memorials will be given to the family for future designation.
