Education: Attended school at Mount Hope, Anamosa, IA; in 1941, when his family moved to their farm in near Harlan, IA, where he continued country school at Lincoln No 1. Ron attended Harlan High School until he left for California in 1947

Religious affiliation: After his marriage, he and Beverly attended Bethel Baptist Church, Greenfield, IA, where Ron was an usher and they both sang in the choir, often singing duets. In later years, Ron and Bev attended Grace Baptist Church, Harlan, IA.

Marriage: Beverly Pauley; Oct. 22, 1950; in the chapel of the Pauley Funeral Home, Harlan, IA

Employment: When he left high school to move to California, he got a job at Edwards Air Force Base working on a rocket sled. While in California, he also worked at Peerless Pump Company, as well as on a hay ranch where he worked picking up bales of hay. Ron moved back to Harlan in spring of 1950. Was then a life-long farmer in Shelby County, IA

Hobbies/Interests: He loved his farm, flying, picnics, NASCAR, and watching the birds at the feeders
